Google Pixel is the best Android smartphone that you can buy as of now. Now since it is the best Android smartphone you can buy (keeping aside its price tag) you should also know what are the Tips and Tricks that will help you make most out of the Google Pixel XL and the Google Pixel. So, here are the best Google Pixel Tips and Tricks at your service.

Top Best Google Pixel Tips and Tricks

Do note that these Tips and Tricks can be exclusive to Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL, because the smartphone runs the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. So, you may not find these on your non-Pixel smartphone if you look into it.

Turn On Gesture Feature

The Google Pixel with the Android 7.0 Nougat comes with the gesture feature built into it. However, in the Google Pixel, the feature is disabled by default.

You can turn on the gesture support in the Google Pixel by following these steps.

To do this, go to Settings and tap on Moves.

Inside the Moves tab, enable all the features such as Swipe down on the fingerprint sensor for Notifications, Jump to camera app by double tapping the power button, flick your wrist to go in out of the selfie mode and etc.

Enable Multi-Screen / Split Screen View

Split screen or the multi-screen view is not something new to the Android world, but now the Google has made it a default feature in the Android 7.0 Nougat.

It allows you to view two different apps screen simultaneously side by side. You can browse twitter while playing the YouTube video. Or simply copy paste something from the top screen to the Note app just like that.

Open the recent apps view.

Tap and hold on the app that you want to use with Split Screen.

You will see a message saying drag here to use Split screen. Do it and you are good to go.

You may want to note that not all the apps support Split Screen feature as of now, but those who support it will work fine with the Google Pixel.

Enable Pulse Notification Light

I have used HTC phones and they have little handy notification light that blinks with new notifications.

However, you may not find it in the Google Pixel XL as the feature has been disabled by the Google by default. However, you can still enable it and here is how to do it.

Go to Settings and tap on Notifications.

Under Notifications, click the Gear icon (Setting icon).

Here you can enable/disable the Pulse Notification light. Simply, toggle the slider to turn on the Notification light.

Get Bokeh Effect in Photos

The Bokeh effect allows you to focus on the object and highlight it while blurring the background of a photo. With the Google Pixel, you can achieve Bokeh effect for any photo that you capture using the phone.

When you want to use the Bokeh Effect, fire up Google Pixel camera and tap the hamburger icon. It will open the Shooting Mode.

From here, tap on Lens Blur.

Now you have to take a photo while focusing on the object. Once you have the processed photo, you should see the Bokeh Effect.

Enable Night Mode

Night Mode feature in the Google Pixel allows you to read or look at your screen even during dark hours of the night. Here is how to enable the Night Mode in Google Pixel XL.

Go to Settings and tap on Night Light.

Next, toggle the slider to Turn On / Off Night Light feature.

You can also customize Night Life mode by scheduling it to turn on a custom time. Or select Sunset to Sunrise for not having to change it all the time.
