This is because Samsung Android devices comes pre-installed with a torch app or widget called Assistive light. Assistive light is a pre-installed widget on Samsung Galaxy devices and allows you to turn on flashlight on your Samsung Galaxy device with a single tap. This app is built into Samsung’s Touchwiz launcher and you don’t need to download a third party flashlight from the Google Play Store.

- Unlock your Samsung Galaxy Device
- Press and hold on your Home Screen to bring up the Home Screen Menu.
- Now, tap on Apps and Widgets
- Next, tap on Widget tab and find Assistive light widget.
- Tap and hold on Assistive light widget and place it on your Phone’s screen
That’s it! Now whenever you want to turn on torch on your Samsung Galaxy device tap on Assistive light widget and tap on Assistive light widget to turn it off. However, do note that Assistive light widget can only work as flashlight and won’t have features like SOS etc which you can find in third party apps.
