Update Your Yureka to CyanoGen OS 12 Android 5.0 Lollipop


YU has finally released official Cyanogen 12 update based on Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its Yureka smartphone. The update is currently being rolled out to Yureka smartphones in phases.  If you own a Yureka smartphone, here is how to update Yureka to Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

The latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Yureka smartphone brings several new features and bug fixes. Apart from bug fixes and performance improvements, the cyanogen 12 update brings CyanogenMail, Exchange support, App themer, and Multiple account integration and more.

Update Yureka to CyanoGen OS 12 Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA

The CyanoGen OS 12 Android 5.0 Lollipop update for YU Yureka is available through OTA (Over The Air) and is probably easiest method to update your device. The update will roll out in phases, if you haven’t received the update yet, then you will get it in few days.

However, if the update is available for your Yureka smartphone then you will receive a update notification on your device. If not, you can check for the update manually from from Settings >> About >> System Update.

Update Yureka to CyanoGen OS 12 Android 5.0 Lollipop Manually

Now if you don’t want to wait till the update hits your device through OTA, then you can manually update Yureka to CyanoGen OS 12 Android 5.0 Lollipop as well. All you have to do is download the zip file and flash it manually on your device. The best thing about this is that you don’t need to have root access to your Yureka to flash zip file as you will be doing this from Recovery menu. Here is how to do the same.

Step 1: Take complete back up of your Yureka device, just in case if something goes wrong.

Step 2: Download CM 12 Android 5.0 Lollipop Zip file Here.

Step 3: Once downloaded, move the file to /download folder of your phone memory.

Step 4: Turn off / Switch off your device. Now you have to Boot into Recover Mode. To do this, press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power Button simultaneously.

Step 5: Next, Wipe the cache and select Apply Update > Choose from Internal storage. Navigate to /download folder and select CM 12 Zip file named as Cm-12.0-YNG1TAS0W0-tomato-signed.zip.

That’s it. Wait till the flashing process completes. Once done, select Reboot System now. This will boot up your device. Leave your device for few minutes (10 minutes approx) before your start exploring it.
