The latest Android OS update named as Android 5.0 Lollipop has brought several new features to the smartphones. And if you have updated your Smartphone to Android 5.0 Lollipop then you might have noticed that Chrome for Android has merged its tab with Android’s recent app list. Now if you want to remove it, here is how to remove tabs from Recent Apps list on for Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Now if you are a long time Chrome user on Android and you keep several tabs  open at a time then you may not find this change in your Chrome browser user friendly. However, the good thing is you can disable this change on your Chrome browser on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

As I said earlier, you can disable this feature easily as Chrome allows you to opt out of this feature within Chrome’s settings. Follow these steps given below to learn how to disable tabs in Recent app list on Chrome for Android 5.0 Lollipop running smartphones.

Remove Tabs from Recent Apps List on Chrome

Step 1: Open  Chrome browser on your Android 5.0 Lollipop running smartphone.

Step 2: Now tap on Chrome Menu button and select Settings from the list.

Step 3: Next, tap on Merge Tabs and Apps under Basics section.

Step 4:  Now you have to Turn Off the Merge Tabs and Apps feature by sliding the slider to Off.

That’s it. Restart your Chrome browser on your Android smartphone. Now you should see that tabs are appearing within the Chrome itself and you don’t have to access them from Recent App List.  In case you want to go back to the latest merge tabs and apps feature then simply turn on the feature from Chrome Settings.
