Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone giant recently entered the smartphone market in India. The smartphone makers became quiet popular with the launch of devices like Xiaomi Redmi 1s, Xiaomi Mi 4 and Xiaomi Mi3 and Note series. Now if you own any of these device then you might have seen that these device doesn’t come with Google Play store pre-installed except India variants.
Not having Google Play Store on an Android device is like having no Android device at all. Now if you want to install Google Play Store on your Xiaomi device then here is how you can Install Google Play Store on Xiaomi redmi 1s, Redmi Note, Mi4 and Mi3 with ease.
There are two ways to install Google Play Store on Xiaomi Mi4, Mi3 and Redmi 1S. First method is through installing Google Installer and the second method is through installing the Google Play store manually.
Method 1: Install Google Play Store on Xiaomi Mi4, Mi3 and Redmi 1S using Google Installer
Step 1: Unlock your Xiaomi device and find MI Market app in it. MI Market is Xiaomi’s own apps store for its Android devices.
Step 2: Open MI Market app and search for Googleplay.
Step 3: You should see Google Installer being listed as the first result. Tap and install Google Installer on your Xiaomi device.
Step 4: Once you have installed the Google Installer, open it. You should notice that Google Play Store is being listed among other Google Apps.
Step 5: Select and tap on Google Play Store to install it on your Xiaomi Device.
Step 6: When you click on Install, a pop up window will appear asking you to install Google Service Frame work. Google Service Frame work is necessary for Google Play Store to work on your device. Tap on OK to accept it.
Step 7: Next, you will see 4 Service Frame work apps listed (refer the image below). Install all the 4 Service Framework .
Step 8: Once you have installed the Google Service Frame work, open Google Installer and install Google Play store on your Xiaomi Device.
That’s it. You have successfully installed Google Play Store on your Xiaomi Device. However, it this method didn’t work for you then follow second method given below.
Method 2: Install Google Play Store on Xiaomi Mi4, Mi3 and Redmi 1 Manually
Step 1: Enable installation of apps from Unknown sources on your Xiaomi device. To do this go to Settings >> Security >> Enable Unknown sources.
Step 2: Download the latest version of Google Play Store APK on your Xiaomi device from XDA Forums.
Step 3: Once you have downloaded the file successfully, tap on the APK file and install it.
After the successful installation you should have Google Play Store installed on your Xiaomi Redmi 1s, Mi 3 and Mi 4 devices. Do note that you have to sign in using your Google / Gmail account before you can use Google Play Store app on your device.
