Chrome Remote Desktop app was originally announced back in last year April, but was only available for Android platform. Recently Google released the same app for iOS running devices including iPhone and iPad. Here’s how you can make use of it.
How to Remotely Access PC From iPhone/iPad using Chrome Remote Desktop
Step 1: Download and Install Chrome Remote Desktop extension on your PC. (Download here)
Step 2: Now click on Launch App to launch it.
Step 3: Next, you need to Authorize Chrome Remote Desktop app extended permission to your computer. Click on Accept and grant access to your Google account.
Step 4: Now you will see two options “Remote Assistance” and “My Computers”.
Step 5: Under My Computers, click on Get started.
Step 6: To enable remote notifications, click on Enable remote connections.
Step 7: Now a Chrome Remote Desktop installer will be downloaded to your PC. Once downloaded, run the installer.
Step 8: Once Installed, you will be asked to enter new PIN to protect access to your computer. Enter any 6 digit and retype it to confirm. Click on OK to proceed.
Step 9: Now again you will be asked to enter the same PIN. Enter and confirm the same PIN. Once done, you will see ” Remote Connections for this computer have been enabled“.
Step 10: Now download Chrome Remote Desktop app on your iPhone or iPad. (Download here)
Step 11: Once installed, launch it, select your Google account to which you have granted the access.
Step 12: Tap on your PC name, which is already enabled for remote access.
Step 13: Enter the PIN on your iPhone or iPad to confirm the authentication.
That’s it. You have successfully connected to your PC or Mac from your iPhone remotely. Now you can easily access, files and folders on your PC from iPhone or iPad.
