How to Enable/Disable Emergency Cell Broadcast in Android 5.0 Lollipop

If you are an Android smartphone owner then you can get alerts about various emergencies. This feature has been there for some time now, however if you own Android 5.0 Lollipop running smartphone then here is how to enable and disable emergency cell broadcast in Android 5.0 Lollipop running device.

How to Enable/Disable Emergency Cell Broadcast in Android 5.0 Lollipop

Step 1: Go to Menu and tap on Settings on your Android Phone.

Step 2: Scroll down and under Wireless & Networks, tap on More.

Step 3: Under More, scroll down until you see Emergency Broadcasts. Tap on it to open it.

Step 4: In Cell Broadcast settings, you can see various emergency alert options.

Step 5: Check, Show Extreme Threats, Show server threats, Show AMBER alerts, Turn on Notification, Vibrate on alert and set alert sound duration.

This Emergency Cell Broadcast feature could come in very handy if you live near areas where natural disasters are common scene. In such situations, emergency alters are automatically sent to users over GSM or UTMS networks through cell towers. If you have enabled Cell Broadcast Emergency feature, it will alert you by vibrating or by ringing.  This feature is by default turned on most of the Android smartphones, however if it is not enabled in your phone then you can follow above steps to enable it.
