How to Root Sony Xperia Smartphone

Follow these steps to root Sony Xperia smartphone.
Step 1: Enable Unknown Sources: To do this, go to Settings, then on Security and enable Unknown Sources. Enabling Unknown Sources allows you to install third party apps on your device.
Step 2: Enable USB Debugging: To do this, go to Settings, Developer Options and check/tick Enable USB Debugging.
Step 3: Now download Towelroot app.
Step 4: Once downloaded, Tap on Towelroot APK to install it on your device. If you are using your PC, then click on Lambda sign to download the APK. Next, move it to your device and install it.
Step 5: Once installed, run the app and tap on Make it ra1n button. This will first check your device for compatibility and if your device is supported by the app, then it will root your device.
Note: If your device simply reboots without any notifications that means your device is not supported by the app.
Step 6: After successfully rooting your device, you need to download SuperSU. This app allows you to manage root permission for your installed apps. Download SuperSU from Chainfair and install Superuser.apk on your device. If you get “Failed to update” error then simply reboot / restart your device and try again to install the SuperSU app.
If everything went right, then you should have successfully rooted your Sony Xperia smartphone. Now you can do several things on your device, which you may not be able to do with a non-rooted device. With a rooted device, you could change system fonts and specific app font.
