How to Block Pop Ups on Firefox for Windows 8
Step 1: Open / Launch Firefox on your PC.
Step 2: Click on Menu button (three horizontal bars top right corner of Firefox window).
Step 3: From the drop down menu options, select Options.
Step 4: In Options window, click on Content tab.
Step 5: Under Content Tab, check/tick “Block pop-up windows”.
Step 6: Save settings by clicking on OK.
This will block every pop-up in Firefox. However, if you want to allow pop-ups for few trusted websites then you can add an exception for those websites. Under Content Tab, click on Exceptions and add URL of websites you wish to exclude from blocking pop-ups.
How to Block Pop ups on Internet Explorer for Windows 8
To block pop ups on Internet Explorer in Windows 8 follow these steps.
Step 1: Launch / Open Internet Explorer.
Step 2: Click on Settings button at the right side corner of Internet Explorer (Gear icon).
Step 3: From the drop down menu, select Internet Options.
Step 4: In Internet Options window, click on Privacy Tab.
Step 5: Under Privacy tab, check/tick “Turn on Pop-up Block”.
Step 7: Finally click on Apply to save the settings.
Similar to Firefox settings, in Internet Explorer also you can add exception. Under Privacy tab, beside “Turn on Pop-up blocker click Settings and add all the websites you wish to exclude from blocking pop-ups.
