Popup ads can be frustrating at times, specially the one, which won’t let you go back after visiting a website. Popup ads are not new and could be found anywhere. They just popup when you access a website which has enabled serving popup ads to the visitor.
As I said before at times, these ads can be frustrating and the only way to deal with them is by blocking Popups on your web browser. However, every modern web browser comes with option to block pop ups including Google Chrome. If you are a Google Chrome user, here is how to block Popups on Google Chrome.
Point and click your cursor on Menu (three bars), Select settings from the drop down list. Now scroll down and click on Show advanced settings. Now from content settings,, click on Do not allow any site to show pop-ups under Pop-ups section. Follow these steps for the same.
Block Popup Ads on Google Chrome
Step 1: Open Google Chrome
Step 2: Click on Menu (three bars) and select Settings from the drop down list.
Step 3: Scroll down to bottom of the page and click on Show advanced settings.
Step 4: Search for Privacy section and click on Content settings.
Step 5: Now search for Pop-ups section and select “Do not allow any site to show pop-ups”.
Step 6: Click on done to save the settings.
Note: Manage exception under Pop-ups section allows you to exclude any website from blocking Pop-ups.
By following the above steps, you would be able to block pop-ups on Google Chrome. Except the built in popup blocker you can also use several third party Google Chrome extension to block irritating ads. A simple search on Google or Chrome store will bring you several extensions to block ads.
