Email Delegation feature in Gmail allows you to grant access to your Gmail account to others. With the help of this feature, you can give access to your Gmail account, and any authorised user can access your Gmail account to read email or can compose one.

This feature can come in handy when you want your personal assistant to respond and read your Emails. He or She can read all your emails and can respond or compose new emails on your behalf. There are times when you would not get time to open your Gmail account and respond to the each email you have received. In such situation, you can have someone else to look after your business emails and also allow them to make a reply.

Since you would not feel comfortable in handing over your Gmail account username and password to your assistant, you can make use of the Gmail delegation feature. This way you will allow your assistant to access your email but with limited access. They can read your email and respond to them, but won’t be able to make any unwanted changes to your email account.

All you have to do is go to, Setting > Account and Import tab > Grant access to your account and enter your assistant’s email address. Now verify your assistant’s email address by clicking on the verification link. Follow these steps for the same.
