USB drives not only replaced DVDs, but also brought worry-free portability. Now if you want to Install  Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 on your PC, then you need a Windows 8 DVD. If you don’t have a Windows 8 DVD, then use your Bootable Windows 8 USB drive. You can use your USB Drive to Install Windows 8 on your PC, by creating a Windows 8 Bootable USB drive.

Having a Windows 8 or Windows 10 bootable USB flash drive has its advantages. You can simply plug-in the USB flash drive to any PC and complete the Windows 8 installation process. Having a USB flash drive is better than having a DVD, which you get scratched or broken without putting much effort into it. If you use a DVD to create a bootable DVD, then you need a new DVD if something goes wrong during the bootable disk creation process. But, that is not the case with using a USB flash drive. You can simply use to create a bootable drive and delete the file if you want to use it for something else.

How to Create Windows 8 Bootable USB Drive

Follow below guide to create  Windows 8  bootable USB Drive in just a few clicks. Before you proceed, have a look at requirement list to create Windows 8 bootable USB Drive.

Requirements:

  • Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 ISO File.
  • USB Drive with minimum 4GB Free space.

Note: A 32 Bit OS running system can only make 32 bit Windows 8 Bootable USB Drive, but a 64 bit OS running system can make both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 8 Bootable USB drives.

Step 1: To create Bootable USB Drive, we need Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 ISO file. If you have a Windows 8 DVD, then create ISO file of it, or you can download the Widows 8 ISO file before you proceed to step 2, keep your Windows 8 ISO file ready.

Step 2: Download Windows USB DVD tool from the Microsoft official website.

Step 3: Double click on the downloaded  USB DVD file tool and install it. This free USB DVD tool will be used to format your USB drive properly for creating a bootable drive.

Step 4:  Start the Windows USB DVD tool.

Step 5: Now in Windows USB DVD tool click on Browse and select Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 ISO file and click on Open.

Step 6: Click on Next.

Step 7: Insert your USB Device.

Step 8: Now click on USB Device and select your USB drive from the list.

Step 9: After selecting your USB drive, click on Begin Copying.

Step 10: Now USB DVD tool will begin copying files to the USB. Just wait till the copying process completes.

Step 11:  After completing the copy process, you’ll get a message “Bootable USB device created successfully”.

Step 12: Close “Windows USB DVD tool” window and remove your USB drive from the PC’s USB port.

Step 13: You are almost done! Now insert your USB drive in to any PC and boot from your USB drive.

That’s it! You have successfully created a Windows 8.1 or Windows 8 Bootable USB drive.
