Change DNS Server Address in Windows 10

1. Open Control Panel and go to Network and Internet.

2. Now go to Internet sharing center.

3. Click on Change adapter settings in the left pane.

4. Now right-click on your active internet connection and select properties from the context menu.

5. From the Properties window, double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

6. In the new window, select Use the following DNS address.

7. Enter your preferred DNS server address in “Preferred DNS Server address” and “Alternate DNS server address” field.

Click on OK to save the settings.

How to Change DNS server address in Windows XP

1. Go to > My Computer > Dial-up Networking or Network Connections.

2. Now Right Click on your Internet Connection and select Properties.

3. Now scroll down > Double Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

4. An Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Windows will appear.

5. Now click on Use the following DNS address.

6. Now in the following DNS server address field type your preferred DNS address.

Example: Below I have given Google DNS server address
Preferred DNS server address: 8 8 8 8
Alternative DNS server address: 8 8 4 4

Now again click on Obtain IP address automatically and save the setting. Now you will be able to access any web page successfully without any problem.

How to Change DNS server address in Windows Vista

1. Go to Start Menu > Control Panel.

2. Now under Network and Internet > Click view network status and Tasks.

3. Click on Manage Network Connection.

4. Now you’ll see your connection (Local Area Connection or anything) > Right Click on it.

5. Click on Properties > Double Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

6. Now click on Use the following DNS server address addresses and type your address in the Field.

Preferred DNS server address: 8 8 8 8
Alternate DNS server address: 8 8 4 4

Now click on save setting and you have changed the DNS server address in your Vista running PC.

How to Change DNS server address in Windows 7

1. Go to Start > click on Control Panel.

2. In the search box type “adapter”.

3. Now under Network and Sharing Center, click View network connections.

4. Now right-click on the connection you are using an example, Local Area Connection.

5. Click on Properties and double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

6. Now select use the following DNS server address Address.

7. Type your preferred DNS server address in the given field.

 Preferred DNS server address: 8 8 8 8
 Alternate DNS server address: 8 8 4 4

Now click on OK and you have successfully changed the DNS server address in your Windows 7 PC.

How to Change DNS server address in Windows 8

Now if you are using Microsoft’s latest Operating System Windows 8, then do the following to change the DNS server address in Windows 8.

1. Go to Control Panel or Type Control Panel in the start screen and click on Control Panel.

2. Now under Network and Internet click on View network status and tasks.

3. Click the link next to Connections on the right.

4. Now right-click on the connection you are using > Select properties.

5. Double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

6. Select use the following DNS server address Address.

7. Type your preferred DNS server address in the given field.

 Preferred DNS server address: 8 8 8 8
 Alternate DNS server address: 8 8 4 4

Click OK and save the setting.
